Conchero dancers in pre-Hispanic costumes fill the main square in San Miguel to honor one of the cities most venerated religious figures - El Señor de la Conquista (Our Lord of the Conquest) This is in celebration of the conversion of the indigenous Chichimeca Indians to Christianity over 450 years ago.
