Foggintor Quarry

Whenever I am in this area of Dartmoor I like to visit this quarry. It was 1960 when I paid my first visit here as a young Royal Marine undergoing my training. Here we practiced our cliff climbing techniques. None of the climbing equipment you have today, just hemp ropes and thick padded trousers to stop you getting rope burns!!
