Strange but pretty flower

Thanks to everyone for stopping by the bird and the diver from yesterday's links.. I am glad I was able to share those two pics with you.

This is a very strange flower to me.. I have no idea what it is but it has two separate types of flowers on the same plant. THis one and one that is conical in shape with smaller conical shoots around the bottom.. Both are a beautiful purple colour.
