NMS
This is a photo of the National Museum of Scotland, taken from Forrest Road this morning while the sun shone and before the arrival of the rain.
This modern building was opened in 1998 and houses collections relating to Scottish antiquities, culture and history. It was merged with the former Royal Museum next door, to form the NMS.
The 2 buildings retain very distinctive characters. I hope to blip the other building soon, if I can get a decent shot. It was renovated at huge expense and reopened in 2011.
The NMS is a fabulous free resource in Edinburgh.
