The Wren

Playing in the sun

Following yesterday's extensive walk I just had an hour's long hike to the moor this morning and en route saw this group of golfers out for a morning's game in the enticing March sunlight. The hills always provide a delightful backdrop to this golf course but it was especially scenic this morning as the sun moved across the valley highlighting different sections of the hillside as it went. If you look carefully, or probably view in large, you will see that there are new green shoots on the branches in the right foreground. Very soon the view to the golf course will be almost completely obscured from the woodland path by the tree foliage.

The dogs enjoyed their run and were content - I hope - to settle back with me this afternoon as I spent a while trying to sort the huge number of photos I took during my trip in December to Las Vegas. I am trying to be selective in order to create a Photobook to keep as a memory of the wonderful holiday.

The bird I mentioned in yesterday's journal is almost certainly a Mistle Thrush. Having had an initial clue from Countryfile I then checked my book of Scottish Birds and matched the song, habitat and flight pretty well.

For those of you who were interested in the Scrap quilt I mentioned a couple of days ago then I have now uploaded it to my blipfolio here. If this link does not work then I will try again!

I hope you have a good week end.
