Beacon on Dumyat

Dumyat is at the western end of the Ochil Hills and, although not the highest of these hills, on a clear day it commands extensive views across central Scotland, This beacon was erected in 1977 for the Queen's Silver Jubilee and I recall it being lit also on the occasion of the wedding of Charles and Diana in 1981. There may be plans to light it again this year for the Diamond Jubilee.
Also on the summit there is a memorial stone commemorating the disbandment and reformation of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders
