The fifth element

and the first, second, third and fourth elements, and the timer were all playing up on our old Dualit thick and thin toaster. As it was a wedding present from our friend Ian I thought I should fix it.

So, for the price of quite a reasonable new toaster I bought all the parts and replaced them all. Great design, really easy to work on, sadly we have no bread so I cannot test it, however I can confirm that I can switch it on without plunging the house into darkness and tripping the fuseboard!
