Urban Crocus
The fine City of Norwich has a super-abundance of roadside crocus. Millions of them! One of the oldest plantings is in the central reservation on Grapes Hill in the city centre. The dual carriageway was constructed as part of the inner ring road, cutting through streets that used to radiate out from the old city walls, which run up the hill to the left of the line of traffic. Grapes Hill takes it's name not from a former vineyard but the Grapes Hotel that once stood at the top of the hill.
