Gently down the stream

Time out

This is my take on 1st March!
Work was frantically busy today so probably I should have worked straight through, but I hate doing that and I don't think in the end you get any more done. So at lunchtime I took advantage of the only sunny day of the week, got out the office and drove up into the hills. This little church sits most of the way up one. The lane leading to it stops right by the lychgate and only continues as a footpath up through the wood. The views are to die for, but I didn't go walking, only pottered about in the churchyard looking back over the valley.
In the summer there are lots of larks up here and the air gets very bee-buzzy. The church is early 12th century, but there's been one here since at least the six hundreds. In all that time I doubt if the way it sits in the landscape has changed very much at all. I shall probably blip it again when the leaves are out and the grass grown and mown.
Sometimes I feel a bit mad doing things like this in the middle of a working day, but I can't say I really care..
