and the craziest hike ever

Went to the Hong Kong Global Geopark of China for a hike with my friends today. The weather was cold but what we did not expect was for it to be so misty and gloomy. I was all prepared to take nice photos throughout the hike but it didn't work out that way. Actually most things didn't work out that day. First we were supposed to go and see some rock formations but ended up not going cos we didn't know how to get there. The instructions were to climb over the mountain and go down into one of the bay areas. Unfortunately in front of us was just a super huge mountain. Wasn't possible for us to climb that. No way. So we ended up hiking another route. That route was really horrible with millions of steps and the muddy trail didn't help at all. Usually when you hike up, you expect to take beautiful photos when you reach the peak to make the hike worthwhile but that was not the case. The horrible mist covered everything and there was nothing to see at all. Wasted all my energy lugging my DSLR up the hill. Then we headed down and I was really rushing cos I needed to toilet. I was so happy to see signs of reaching the village so we could take a taxi home. When we reach the village, we happily ordered tow foo far and took a short rest before heading home. Then my friend asked the owner whether it was easy to grab a taxi and how long it will take us to walk to the main road. Imagine our horror when he told us it was another 2 hours walk. We had gone down the wrong route! He advised us to hike back up saying that it was only a 40 minutes hike and we could still be on time to catch the final bus. So we mustered all our energy to hike back up which was a sheer torture when you are in urgent need of the toilet. We were so happy to see the bus still waiting for us. Unfortunately the bus driver told us that there were no seats available and it was not possible to call for a taxi as there was no mobile coverage in that area. Really couldn't believe our luck. But the bus driver was nice enough to help us call for the taxi on his way out. So happy when the taxi came and we could all go home. :P
