Boxed Rails

Today was getting this bit of the job done.

It was an idea suggested by my wife yesterday - put a 1x4 on the inside of the rail edge, and then slap a board ontop to box off the old rails. So here is the before and after shot - and they look rather good.

Managed to do the front and rear porch, although the wood I was using was crap. Need to use brand wood for trim next time.

As we now have a cow pen thing going on (front and back), my wife has helpfully renamed the house Rancho Gordo. (It's on Gordon Road).
