Gone but not forgotten....
Gone but not forgotten.... simple words that hold so much meaning..
Today my husband had taken the day off work to go to hospital with me, so I took full advantage of him being with me afterwards on my walk with Sammy.. and visited the cemetry.
I won't go myself, stupid I know.. but I do have a tendancy to be scared of my own shadow.... and I don't want to do a Scooby Doo and Shaggy act with the dog when I'm out... we mainly stick to open fields when alone, avoiding scarey trees and grave stones and such likes!
I was mainly there to see my Great Uncle who recently passed aways grave stone... a beautiful stone with a Lancaster Bomber on it... he would have approved, he flew them as a young man and left us his memories of that time as a written document before he died.... strangley, it was something he never spoke about though...
He is buried in the new part of the cemetry, but to get there you have to go through the old part, which is fascinating.... the grand stones where whole families are buried, many of them with names that are still large names in the town....
This stone caught my eye, not as grand as most stones, a perfect example of the fact that less is more....
It may seem strange but I think this stone may be inspiration for one of my next tattoos...
On the hospital front... I'm now on the waiting list to have my Gall bladder removed... approximately 3months wait!... I've waited 4months just for todays appointment!!...Jeezo!
It'll be key hole surgery, so I'll get back to work after 2weeks... can't say I'm happy about that... I was hoping for a month on the sick!! lol....
