Deep Green

An unexpected and unplanned blip today, I was trying to see if the wisteria buds were emerging at a rate that justified a picture when I noticed the eerie effect of the reflected light from the tiles in the pool onto the floor of the pergola.

Since the tiles are normally a fairly bright terracotta dulled a little by the winter patina of grime and frost, it was weird to see the combination of the rays of the setting sun through the hedge and the late afternoon gloom painted the scene a ghostly green.
