Xinxinyulu

So today I want to tell you a little bit more about my work here in China.


Today was my third day at Xinxinyulu. It is an Autism Center in Beijing. Actually one of the pioneers , in China, I think. It has been founded six years ago. At this Center they work in a three month period with parents and child. At first they teach the parent how to work with the child and then they practice this during class. I help teach a kind of gymnastics class, in which the children have to do all kinds of movement/activities, as you can see on the picture.

During normal class,, we don't really do a lot. There is a program, but I do not know what it is. I am going to try and figure this out sometime soon.
Now, I just think it looks really sad. The children have to sit on their chairs, against the wall. They can play a bit, but the toys are actually limited. My ½-year old niece has more toys then they have.. But I try to play with them as much as I can. Today I found out they really like to be tickled. Or at least some of them :)
