Life through the lens...

The Penfold.

Driving home from M&S today stopped in Tong village to photograph something I have had my eye on for some time!
Firstly the village pump no longer in use.(bet if we were in France the village would still be getting their Free water from here!) Was built in 1820.
Next to this is a small gated enclosure called a Penfold.
The notice on the gate reads
"Penfold. Where straying animals were kept until claimed by their owners." Restored for European Architecual Heritage Year 1975. Restored 2007.

In the background you can see the cricket pavillion, and the Greyhound Pub.

A lovely village with a lot of history . Pre dates the Norman Conquest.
( think there may be more blips later!)

Busy afternoon. Decided to clean the car inside and out, before we go on holiday.
(Mr C visiting his Dad) Thought half an hour would do but over an hour later just finished as Mr C walked in!!
After driving 400 miles to Cornwall will probably look just as bad again!
Then got the garden tidied up.
Weather did feel very Spring like today although no sun.

Looking forward to setting off on Holls. on Friday!
