Under Construction

There's a bit of work going on downtown, right on the area called The Mall (the big green expanse of land that runs between the Capitol building on one end and the Lincoln memorial at the other).

Right now, the lawn panels in front of the Capitol are being replaced with more sustainable stuff. The stately building peeking out from behind the huge pile of sand struck me as an 'encounter of the third kind' type of scene :))
