"Stuff"

Having lived in a box room for 5 months with all my books, DVDs and CDs in storage and then moved countries with just two suitcases has made me acutely aware of how little "stuff" contributes to happiness and life.

Making use of the local library is a great way to save money and more importantly to stop the accumulation of "stuff". The library here is great for several reasons:

1. It is a brand new building with a great layout which is designed around modern day usage patterns.
2. Self-checkout and self-return.
3. A passable web-based catalogue with online reservations and wishlist-style features.
4. New books shelved separately in an reasonably easy to browse manner.
