Pretty little maids, all in a row
I just about did an Irish heel click today when I opened the package full of Dunkin' my mom sent. I know it's shameless to put a blog entry up about a brand name, but seriously, this stuff is wonder tonic. Aside from the elusive and costly espresso scattered throughout this city, every store shelf and restaurant is stocked with nothing but instant coffee crystals, most often cut with a high percentage of chicory, which to me adds a subtle fragrance of cheap scotch and grass trimmings to what had unpleasant to zero flavor in the first place. I promise you I'm no coffee snob - I drank about a thousand proud gallons of Folger's in college and would gladly do it again - but after a few months of choking back the insipid local brew (that pun would have gotten me some good mileage on the garbage truck), these are four pounds of manna from heaven. I love ya Mum... let's get caffeinated.
