Turning Point

Things are deteriorating in our 60 year old house at a faster rate than I can put them right. I'm weary of explaining how our loos function to the uninitiated, and that they can only shower at hourly intervals. I've been locating replacement sanitary ware and have discovered that like chocolate bars, size and quality have diminished with time. I have a bunch of bathroom catalogues for bedtime reading as I must order tomorrow at the latest.

It occurred as I refuelled the car earlier, that compared to diesel, the sink I've got my eye on may not be so pricey after all. Not that long ago we all shuddered at the prospect of paying a pound for a gallon of fuel and now we're prepared to pay over £100 for a tankful. If only public transport were more convenient and less expensive...

I parked at Kingoodie and walked along the road past the reedbeds towards Longforgan. I used to regularly cycle along this road and know there are many species of birds which nest among the reeds, as well as otters. I hoped that I'd find something interesting to photograph, but it was too windy and there were no birds in sight. I ended up greeting a friendly pony who obligingly came near enough for me to take a close up of his eye.
