Another sign of Spring

The colour of these catkins caught my eye.
They are male flowers of the Alder tree. Initally purple or green but become yellow as the pollen is shed.
I have only noticed them before when they were yellow.
Thanks to Blip my eyes have been awakened to so many new things, that before I passed by and never noticed!!
