deception. this room looks cozy. unfortunately it's located at a hostel in an old town near shanghai called zhujiajiao. sounds good, no? no. they don't heat here. and the buildings are uninsulated with stone floors. it was close to freezing the night i stayed there. i slept fully clothed with 5 thick blankets on top of me. and i was still cold. (as an aside, i was born and raised in quebec, where -30 in the winter is not terribly uncommon, so i know what cold is.) anyhow, lovely town, but if you visit when it's not warm, pack lots of warm clothes!
