Being Boiled

I'm waving goodbye to this boiler today. The thing was being held together with wooden lolly sticks and PVA glue kindly supplied by its previous owner.
I'm saying 'hello' to a bright and shiny new combi boiler and also greeting a new walk-in wardrobe from where the hot water cylinder is coming out.
At the minute the house looks like a bombsite with carpets up, drums on my bed, a box with the boiler in it for me to step over and a lovely comment from the engineer "Can you remember them when they were on Blue Peter?" as he looked at my th cover of a 'vintage' annual. He's about six and his first memories of Blue Peter are probably Konnie Huq an Matt Baker. Kids, eh?
