Sydenham Heritage Church

Well it was a heritage church. It started out as a Methodist church but for years remained as a historic building in Sydenham with one of those big thermometer graphics showing how much $s raised and how much needed for whatever the plan was.

All academic now as it's been a pile of rubble for a year. Sad if you share a historic connection with it but I tend to come down on the side of safety over leaving dangerous buildings standing while people argue about who, what and how to fix it. Too many were killed through that kind of inaction.

It's sad to continually go past a large pile of rubble but that's how it is and you do adjust to the visual landscape. I've had my eye on the red door and large crack for some time so time to blip it before it's gone. I think it's very beautiful.

The spontaneous approach for me this afternoon. I'm taking up the hunter's offer and whipping out to his place. It's been a intensive earthquake week and little bit of country is just what I need :-)
