Helmut Newton Foundation

The thing about having time to yourself when your family is away is that you've become so used to family life that you quickly end up feeling very lost without them. For me this manifests itself in my inertia to go out and do things, and instead I find myself staying at home and working a lot.

However this afternoon I gave myself a kick up the backside and dragged myself along to the Helmut Newton Foundation beside Zoo station. I was a bit disappointed with the photographs of Newton's that were on display as they were tailored to the current paparazzi exhibition that's being housed there. Most of his pictures that were on display were candid pictures he had taken of the paparazzi and gala events such as Cannes. While this is interesting, it's not nearly as good as his other work. The paparazzi exhibition was a bit of a mix for me too. I loved seeing the old pictures of stars such as Sophia Loren, Paul Newman, Grace Kelly and Elizabeth Taylor, but could have done without the Paris Hilton ones. Being Paparazzi photos most of them are only interesting to you if you're interested in the celebrity.
