Brace-Face

Dear Heart,
I returned home to find Tilly with braces, and Pippin with a brand new blue coat!
I showed my parents a poem I'd written for my Creative Writing class, and it made Dad talk non-stop and Mum very quiet. I thought, at first, that she didn't like it and was ashamed, because it had the word "breast" in it. But she was quiet because she liked it, and afterwards she said that it affected her very much.
It made her want to cry with love, she said. I'd think it a strange sentiment, if I didn't know exactly what she means by it!
