A taste of spring
Spring showed its face today, & what perfect timing: there were a number of projects we had in mind for our new garden to make it 'ours', but which were rather too much for one wobbly wife & a henpecked husband to achieve on their own. So our daughter & grandson had arranged to come over today to help with some of the heavier work, & considering it's still only February, the weather couldn't have been more co-operative.
We're very lucky to have such willing workers, & they really worked their sox off today: whilst daughter & I potted up some plants into decorative containers for the front garden, the 'boys' were busy wheeling barrow-loads of topsoil from the bottom of the garden up to the veg patch, then everybody mucked in to build cages & affix netting in the hope of keeping marauding wildlife from stealing or despoiling our produce. I was meant to be documenting their progress, but kept getting distracted by other blip possibilities - strangely, my request "Can you just move over a bit please, you're blocking my shot of the camellias" didn't got down too well, but nobody got in the way of this one.
