Gently down the stream

Up with the larks

Early this morning I went back to shoot what I saw yesterday, but with the addition of misty shadows and fringes of sun. This is the shot I was trying for and today the conditions were great. There were lots of small birds singing, larks, and a very noisy pheasant strutting his stuff.
The wood nearly sucked me in, of course, with the help of some decorative sheep, but this won out by a whisker. My daughter liked it too, having recently fallen in love with Wuthering Heights. I didn't point out how much more this is (just) South Downs than Yorkshire Moors!
