Blackcap

The spaniel and I decided the other day to change our morning routine, at least for the weekends. He needs more training to walk on the lead so we are now doing an early morning walk along the back lanes from our house to the next village and back. I love these lanes early in the morning when there is no traffic. They run along the sandstone ridge that lies parallel with the South Downs and provide really nice views down across the heavily wooded vale of Sussex towards the chalk ridge. This morning there was still quite a sharp frost on the fields and a low mist in the vale. Blackcap is the name given the rise on the Downs topped with trees in the centre of the image.
