The Demise of Grunty Fen Tip

Mr H and I always like a trip out to the Grunty Fen Land Fill and Recycling Centre (or Tip!) It's a splendid drive out there and with a name like that and that catharsis of clearing out a load of stuff, a trip there just makes me smile.

On the approach road today we wondered how long the queue would be and we were surprised not to see any cars queueing on the road. It turns out the tip has closed to be replaced by a brand new facility. It urged us to go there, (only five minutes drive from here, it said). So, off we went.

The new tip is all singing and dancing and has signs up for this and that, and put your small appliances here. It's a bit like a bus station with pull in bays. However, it still has the folks that used to work at the Grunty Fen version. Now they are sporting 'Happy to Help' coats.
