TEAM ROPIN
2 COWBOYS - 2 HORSES - 1 STEER

TERMS
BOX
A chute - 3-sided fenced area at the arena's end
BARRIER
Breakaway rope pulled across the chute. Designed to give the steer a head start. Breaking the barrier results in a penalty. Seconds added to the overall time. Not good.

COWBOYS
HEADER
First out, Ropes horns or head without breaking the barrier. Then wraps a lasso around a saddle horn and turns the steer left. Here comes-
HEELER
Ropes legs or heels.
Clock is stopped when there is not slack in both ropes, and horses face each other.

Ropin involves such timing and coordination between the cowboys and their amazing horses. Today, most of the teams broke the barrier, and these were top riders.
