You can help change Children's Lives

It's been a long week and I've spent the last couple of days down in London on business. It's a tough old game the Sales games, as you're either a hero, or the villain and never anything in between.

When you win new business, you're elated as it means company targets are met, the business grows and your colleagues will have projects to work on for the next 12 - 24 months, so it's kind of very necessary really. However I'm fortunate that I work for a company who realise our business is played out for the 'long' game so not every campaign ends the way you want it, but they have trust in me and realise success is measured over previous years, not just the last 'deal'.

So work wise it's been a difficult 48 hours. We haven't 'lost' anything, it's just that one decision has been delayed, which can be a long time in the current economic climate, when business priorities change, while the other has wobbled, which means I need to hit the road on Sunday night for a very early Monday morning meeting down South.

Normally in such circumstances my Friday night would be ruined, and I'd spend most of the weekend worrying, however as I sat at Heathrow waiting for my flight home, I received a few texts from Carey who was somewhere very exciting today putting the final touches to something that will be revealed on Monday.

He then told me some other great news about a KiltWalk event that's hopefully about to come to fruition and again it's very exciting.

When I then thought about the fact that we also reached 500 signed up walkers for Hampden to Loch Lomond with 6 weeks still to go, and that Speyside has shot through the 250 mark, then all of a sudden the world seemed a happier place.

So rather than mump and moan about my working life, I can reflect on quite an exceptional KiltWalk week and think about the charities that will benefit from our efforts.

All of which led me to tonights blip when I thought we could all "take a step back" and remind ourself that as the picture says "Every child has the ability and indeed the right to grow up and flourish" and by registering for The KiltWalk today then you can help make a difference, so go on, you know you want to.
