Today we visited a factory that makes non-woven fabric out of viscose., an ecological and economical alternative to paper towels.

For all my fellow fiber artists out there, non-woven is just a fancy name for felt. And it turns out they make it exactly like we make felt by hand only they have HUGE machines that do all the work.

This machine has thousands of needles that go up and down really fast to "join" or felt the layers of fiber.
