Recycled Pond Life
This is my first week back downtown, in an office building that is linked to the Eaton Centre shopping mall. The central space of the mall, over several floors, is decorated with recycled reusable materials, recreating a pond with surrounding trees and shrubs. Notice the frog and the dragonfly.
This is a view of the pond; on the floor below, you're actually under the water level and can see the recycled fish.
From the Eaton Centre website:
"With the help of the Concordia University student body, Roadsworth - a.k.a. Peter Gibson - and Brian Armstrong collected their working material for eight months, directly from the recycling containers used in the Centre. The goal: transform this "so-called" residual waste into a garden within the heart of the city, into an awe-inspiring artistic project that travels through the many levels of the Montréal Eaton Centre and raises awareness and consciousness on the actual value of these materials that surround us on a daily basis."
