A little hole in the windscreen

This was the message Harisen passed on to Mary!!  ( A little hole ?)
Philip, our horticultural recruit, from Dundee and myself were driving from Lilongwe towards Mzuzu, when a lunatic driver of a lorry dropped this piece of firewood from his huge trailer (it wasn't tied down and he was doing 120 at least.
It bounced several times, couldn't decide on a target and settled for the middle.
The lorry was one side, a canyon on the other, jammed brakes, closed eyes and took the shower of glass.
Someone was praying, as we came out untouched, but we still had 200 miles to go.
Tied down the timber, and with two bananas and a plastic bag filled the hole.
We lost a half an hour and arrived in the dark.
We are very busy here and too tired to post.
The next tree might get me.
