Surveying the damage

Ds1 is most impressed with how his skin healed after blood tests but his whole hand hurts.

Considering how hard we held him to extract his precious blood I am not at all surprise.

The night was appalling. Supposed to be under obs meant I observed and then had to find/beg/force an overstretched nurse to take his temp and then administer drugs. All while being made to feel like a fussy pain in the ass mother.

The basics of distributing calpol and ibruprofen is something that happens swiftly in our house. Temp equals medicine.

Here I felt out of control and watching your son shivering and looking awful whilst waiting was not good.

I am demanding we go home as the night lights were not put on until nearly 1am and with noise, temps, lights we have had about three hours sleep.

Not a very healing environment.

Nurses and drs totally rushed off their feet. I love the NHS but the coal face of hospital stays ain't much fun.
