Quick Visit with Malena

Here Arvin and I are with Malena. She is a wonderful gal from Trujillo Peru. We were her host family in 2004 when she came with a group of Peruvian English teachers to Whatcom Community College for a nine week training session in teaching English as a second language. We got along perfectly. She came back for a week in 2007 when she was in Seattle for a TESL conference. We got a call from her two days ago. She was able to come to Everett to visit a friend after another TESL conference in New Orleans. Luckily we could drive down to visit with her for the day today. We had a fabulous time. And we met her friend Mirella and her husband Mark. Mirella and Malena used to be neighbors in Trujillo. We all had a great time together. Malena hasn't changed a bit. And we still felt right at home with each other. I think it's our turn to find our way to Peru to visit her.
