Ozmopolitan!
A busy day. I started out by heading down to Williamstown Beach and the Marine and Bird Sancturies down there. It would have been a good idea to check the tides first as it was high tide and so there weren't many tweeties in the bays. The lagoon had its usual hoardes of nest australian ibis but onlt a few other species. Still, it was a nice walk and I did see (what I think was) a Singing Honeyeater. After lunch in the Rotunda, looking out over Hobsons bay, I headed back towards the town and the trip back to the city centre, in plenty of time to get ready for the theatre that evening.
The school is putting on The Wizard Of Oz next term and seeing that Wicked was showing here, I felt that I just had to go and see it. Wicked is the story of the lives of Glinda and Elpheba before the house fell on OZ. It was an excellent performance, and the sets and costumes were amazing.
I also enjoyed the Ozmapolitan... a concoction of vodka, kiwi, pineaplle and lemon, served over crushed ice and in a green glass with a lit stem...so much so that I had a second during the interval! (This isn't actually the drink, it's sparkling wine in the Oz glass, because I took this back in the apartment)
A thoroughly entertaining evening and I'd recommend the musical to everyone, especially if you like the origimal story!
