What is it?

Found in the garden today. It's fabulously hairy, all over. This is only part of the whole. If the sun shines tomorrow I'll try and do justice to the rest.

The last time I asked "What is it?" the first respondent was correct. Doubtless you clever folk will rise to the challenge.

PS. If the sun shines tomorrow, lots of other nice things will catch my eye too. So no promises about revealing all so soon!
