Breakfast

A very simple image from today. The best food I had in Kerala was in the place I stayed on the backwaters. It was cooked by local women and was authentic Keralan fare, unlike a lot of the food aimed at tourists which is de-spiced!

I was served an enormous breakfast that included curry, toast, fresh fruit and these rice pancakes. They were absolutely delicious but best of all I loved the lacework on them. Hard to believe they'd just been cooked on a pan - they looked at though they were woven. Here's one caught against the morning light.
