City Walls
I struggled to get away from my laptop this afternoon, but I looked out of the window and thought "sod it". So I did. I turned of the laptop, wandered along the Northern part of the city walls and took this. Glad I got out. I guess I'm not just Blipping to get some practice in, I'm also doing it so I get some fresh air once in a while.
The story behind these towers (there are four of them still there today) is that they used to protect the main trade routes in and out of the city. I live near one called Laufer Tor. This one is Neutor(turm).
I don't think they were always round. I think that came later on as they were then more difficult to destroy by canon fire (or something like that!)
