HEART OF DARKNESS

I may make some gingerbread later - it's deeply gorgeous, and the only thing I ever made that my mother-in-law admitted to enjoying. The other dark secret about this blip is (are?) the 'best before' dates, which I shall defiantly ignore. How can they go off, for goodness sake? Did I read that they're going to be abolished? That'll be ironic then... 'best before' dates having a 'use by' date.
