Southern Light

The prevailing wind here is from the North-West. The wind originates across the Tasman Sea, crosses the Alps, often dropping rain as it does, and arrives in Wanaka at strengths varying from a light breeze to a full blown gale. Today was looking like rain and The Boss had a bundle of jobs to be done, so I just rode round in the back of Jim and met people. The Boss had his small camera and was on Blip Watch and eventually tracked down a first indicator of Autumn. This is in the bed of the Cardrona River, dry as a bone which probably had a bearing on the colour of the leaves on the poplar tree. The view is up the Cardrona valley towards Queenstown.
