a real reflection, this time


warning.. if you aren't fond of science, you might want to skip the next two paragraphs:

i had a great day at work. i got to learn how to use fluorescent antibodies as markers for specific types of neurons. when you look at mouse retina under a fluoroscopic microscope, it looks awesome! you can see all of the interconnections in bright green, and it looks like it comes right out of a sci-fi movie. i wish i had thought to take a picture at the time

i'm beginning to learn that there's a lot more to cameras than just photography. there are entire (nikon!) setups devoted to imaging neuronal activity. and then, what to do with those images once they get to your screen is an entirely different problem..
