PANCAKE RACE

Scarborough has a big date with Shrove Tuesday.
Throughout history there have always been events held to celebrate Pancake Day. A special bell is rung at midday by the Mayor of Scarborough, followed by charity pancake races and then skipping races along the foreshore.
Picture shows the 'Aberdeen Walk Races' where marks are gained for costumes, agility, tossing skill and carrying the most pancake back safely after the end of the run.
