Muirtown Locks

These are the Muirtown Lock Gates in Inverness with The Kessock Bridge and Ord Hill above North Kessock in the background.
The lock gates are basically a water ladder to lift boats, from the Muirtown Basin to the level of the Caledonian Canal and thence on to Loch Ness, which is still part of the overall Caledonian Canal.
