Batten down the hatches

We were scheduled to have our annual swimming championships today (outdoor pool) but the weather forecast yesterday had indicated that we were going to be engulfed by 2 days of heavy rain so we made an early call yesterday to postpone them until Thursday.

Today began as a mildly grey day and gradually warmed up to a beautiful, warm, semi-sunny day - one that would have been perfect for the swimming champs.

Instad, the bad weather began to roll in early this evening and is looking like it might be very bad - certainly the local authorities are on standby in case of a repeat of the December floods and consequent devastation.

And yes - it's likely to hang around until Thursday so our cancellation plan isn't looking too good either :(

Mr Murphy is a bit of a nuisance at times!!
