Sunrise

It was quite dark when I took this shot. When I looked at it on my computer screen I was surprised to find that the water tank, which I had taken to be large and distant, was actually small, close by and on the back of a truck.  The plant is hedge mustard.  I used the exposure compensation to reduce the brightness.  Otherwise it has only been cropped and resized.

The hills over to the right are the Port Hills on the other side of the Canterbury Plains. They are in, and close to, Christchurch. Tomorrow is the first anniversary of the the devastating earthquake  that destroyed much of the city.
