no piece of cake

I've discovered that neither smoothing out buttercream icing nor taking pictures of food is a piece of cake. I have a lot of work to do on both! But I did successfully create a marble cake with zebra stripes (pink and black as requested) for a young girl's birthday as part of the Austin Bake a Wish organization. It was fun! And she seemed quite delighted even though I presented it a little sheepishly not feeling that it was one of my better creations. A good reminder to me to not be quite so critical of my work and to remember the thought and heart behind it.
