Faithful Fedora

Hats - what noble items of headgear - sun or rain, always there - like a faithful hound, chihuahua-sized, with a brim.
Horror on a rainy day.
Went under a car - a itinerant squall sprang upon my return from the paper shop - and my canine surrogate went across the road to sniff at some vehicles underside - no harm done though. Cars stopped as I retrieved the forlorn felt form from its sad hug to the sky-spattered asphalt.
Head mounted & happy once more our symbiotic trot homeward was thankfully less eventful.
What a head trip.
