Ford Anglia

I drove across the North York moors this morning, took one or two murky shots that were ok in black and white but decided to go with this shot. It is, of course, the police car that featured in Heartbeat in the fictional village of Aidensfield (Goathland) on the television. I never watched the soap but I did have a Ford Anglia. It was my first car bought at the age of 18 for £25 with summer vacation wages. You had to bail the water out of the footwells in the morning after overnight rain, park on a hill to start it and you could assist right hand turns by braking. I was so proud of that car nevertheless. It gave several thousand miles of useful service before failing its MOT - surprise, surprise!
